Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as the label's first female artist for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Dreamville Records released her debut album titled Pho in the month of October 2016 where she started getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012, when she released her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014 she continued to share her music over the internet, including her self released single Bound. The song Sweat it included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to collaborate with Rihanna. On December 8, that she had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat is one of the songs she co-wrote with Cozz on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II. The 21st of October, 2016, her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and was an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks featuring EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video for it came out on the 5th. Then on November 9 the singer released two new singles: the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 2013, she released her debut album No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this track as a single in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February of 2019, the video music for this track debuted. It has had more than 3 million YouTube views in just one week. In December of 2018, she was a supporting act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
